I’m going to get all self-indulgent here and take this opportunity to let you all know of some of my goings on and upcoming events.
First off, my book made it to audio. My copies arrived in the mail the other day. It's pretty neat to hear someone read my book, but I've got to get used to it, not only not being me, but being a man.
On Tuesday, May 13, 2008, I’ll be speaking at the Dunedin Public Library at 7:00 PM and signing copies of The Everything Green Living Book (which hopefully are enroute to my house). I grew up in Dunedin and it’s nice to be welcomed back so warmly. (Well, at least I hope it will be a warm reception, I’ll let you know afterwards.) It sounds like they’ve done a great job promoting it and I’ve gotten a few emails from old friends who saw flyers up at the library. I’m looking forward to speaking, but more than that talking with some of the people who attend. That’s one of the best aspects to writing the book and doing book signings and such, I meet the nicest and most interesting people. I’m going to make a sweeping generalization here and say that people who are looking to be more environmentally friendly tend to be pretty cool.
On Wednesday May 14, 2007, I’ll be participating in the Go Green Summit. It’s a teleseminar put on by Laura Starling and Gerry Marshall with Starmar, Inc. It’s free to listen to each of the episodes and when the seminar is complete podcasts of all the speakers will be available to purchase. It’s an impressive list of participants and I’m very flattered to be part of the group.
Later in the month, I’ll be speaking at INDIGO Green Store, here in Gainesville. The owners, Liberty Phoenix and Mike Amish, are doing a great job bringing green options to town. This is particularly true of building materials. They’ve got a great selection of flooring and countertops along with home accessories and gifts. And I don’t know how they do it, but the store’s got a great atmosphere, very relaxing and friendly.
So that does it with my narcissistic update. I just didn’t want anybody to say, “I wish I’d known.”

Yay! Thanks for the update. Now I can keep my eye on you ;)
I'm still trying to find a group to bring you up here! Surely there is one ... and I want a signed copy of the book! :-)
I wish Budd'ys aunt would have told her sister you were coming to town. But then again if I read your blog more than once a week I would have know too.
Pinellas County Government website has good information there on recycling. The UF/IFAS Extension site, www.pinellasextension.org also has good info on it.
Thanks for all the great info you put out here. I do try to work on recycling. Thanks to my wonderful niece I have begun to recycle cans. I am addicted! Good thing my boy's jogger has a basket underneath it; it just makes for a long jog. I have even got hubby into it and he has gotten some of the guys at his job into it.
Hey Shannon! I keep forgetting you're in Pinellas. You jogging recycler you.
